Preservation Workshop
We handle virtually all of the preservation projects at the Moore Foundation ourselves with the help of UT School of Architecture students. While this strategy saves the foundation money in the long run and provides “hands-on” learning opportunities, it means that we have to cope with an increasingly large amount of tools and materials.
It istime to devise a more permanent solution.
On the far north side of the property, we are planning to build a “preservation workshop” where we can consolidate all of these activities and supplies.
The workshop will be a place where we can more effectively manage all of the Moore/Andersson Compound’s preservation needs. And it will provide safe, secure, and out-of-the-way storage for circular saws and drills; clamps and ladders, timber and paint.
